Health Insurance Billing

New Seattle Massage is excited to offer health insurance billing as a service to our independent practitioners and their clients.

Currently, many of our LMPs are providers for the following health insurance plans:

• Aetna
• Cigna
• First Choice
• Premera
• Uniform Medical

To schedule a massage session billed to health insurance, we will need two things:

1. A prescription for massage therapy from a health professional--chiropractor (DC), naturopath (ND), physician (MD), or physical therapist (PT)--including the diagnosis and # and length of treatments. Prescriptions can be read to us over the phone or faxed to us at 206.632.9443.
2. A copy of your insurance ID card (or information from the card, provided over the phone).

Once we have your insurance information and diagnosis, you may schedule three (3) business days (Monday - Friday) ahead. The three-day window allows us to confirm your benefits. If your benefits are not confirmed, we'll call to let you know and to discuss options.

Insurance companies will confirm coverage, but do not guarantee payment until the bills are submitted and a final determination is made. Because of this, when you come in for an appointment, we'll ask you to sign an agreement to be responsible for payment. When we set the appointment, we'll ask you to place your credit card number on file with us to secure the appointment and any future payments that may be due, consistent with the terms of your insurance plan (for example, to satisfy deductibles or to pay co-insurance or rejected claims).

At New Seattle Massage, we're dedicated to one simple idea: massage is good for you! Whether your massage is for relaxation, stress management, or injury treatment, regular massage supports your health in a multitude of ways. While massage is good for you, currently not all massage is covered by insurance. Only when you have a medical condition that massage can improve will coverage apply. Sprains, strains, painful muscle spasms related to injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other conditions are examples.
