Before I became a massage practitioner, I worked with people with Developmental Disabilities for about 7 years. I graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2000 and shortly thereafter moved to Ireland to work on a farm with people with Developmental Disabilities and mental illness. I saw the incredible benefits of massage for them and decided I wanted to give that gift of peace and relief.
I moved back to the United States and went to massage school in Portland, OR. Before returning to the States, I traveled Europe working in sustainable communities and also developed a love for travel. After earning my massage license, I traveled through Mexico and lived in Guatemala where I set up a massage practice, working with both travelers and people in the community. I learned to communicate in Spanish well and gained an understanding of the culture and traditions. After about two years I moved back to the Northwest. I was raised just outside Seattle and it is lovely to be back.
I have recently had a baby girl and I massage her everyday. She reaps great benefits from this and I hope to continue working with her as well as other infants. I received a lot of massage while pregnant with her and have incorporated pre and post natal massage into my practice. I am sure my pregnancy would not have been nearly as easy had I not received massage.
Currently, I offer Deep tissue, relaxation and prenatal massage. I also incorporate Cranio-sacral techniques as well as some shiatsu into my massages.
I believe the benefits of massage are endless and encourage everyone to not only indulge in massage from time to time, but also to include it as part of their lifestyle. Massage encourages healing on all levels, not just the physical.
I hope to see you here soon!
