I've practiced massage off and on since 1981 and am still learning new things every day about how best to apply the techniques I use. I adapt your massage session to your specific needs by listening to what you tell me, "listening" to your body, evaluating your posture, and considering your typical daily activities.
Often my work is slow and deep, and I'm skilled at providing lasting relief to chronic pain. I also recognize the value of gentle, soothing massage to relax and awaken the body's own restorative healing ability.
Typically, I use a combination of both light and deep tissue techniques, and have a good intuitive sense for using appropriate depth and speed to ensure your complete comfort. I enjoy working with people who participate in their massage sessions by allowing their bodies to let go and their minds to relax.
My past experience as a fitness instructor allows me to effectively incorporate passive stretching and sports massage. Also, my personal experience with two motor vehicle accidents and a functional scoliosis has given me a much deeper understanding of the body, as well as a deep empathy for the people I treat. Finally, my past experience in environmental public policy has given me an intimate awareness of the every day aches and pains experienced after long hours in an office setting.
I accept personal injury claims/PIP (car accidents) and Labor and Industry claims/L&I (injuries on the job).
Whether you see me or another of the exceptional therapists at New Seattle Massage, I encourage you to treat your body, mind and spirit to the healing power of therapeutic touch.
